DESCRIPTION:Friday Intermediate Classes (Video Conference)\nA weekly online class via Zoom on Fridays by IM Georgi Orlov. \nThis class is designed for Intermediate level players and is very helpful for tournament players. See how to choose classes. \nWe teach powerful chess tools to get ahead in the game: \n\nStrategy lessons and cool openings\nTactics\nHomework\n\nBelow is the meeting invitation for Friday’s remote chess lessons. To join the meeting\, click on the link below following the “Join Zoom Meeting”. You can connect by laptop\, tablet\, or smartphone. Please use a webcam setup so I can see the students. You’ll probably want to arrive a few minutes early and test your microphone and camera. \nKindly remind students to hold questions and comments during my lesson until I open the floor for discussion. Allow one student to finish their thoughts before jumping in. This will reduce interruptions and maintain the integrity of the chess session. \nIt is good practice to mute your microphone until you talk to reduce background noise. Press the space bar to talk and release to re-mute when your conversation is finished. Think of it as a “push to talk” button. \nParents\, we appreciate your help getting your student successfully connected with this technology in our online lessons. We request that no extras (relatives\, observers\, or remote computers) participate in the session. \nNew Students: If you are a new student joining our Zoom class\, please do two things in advance. First\, email Coach Orlov and request the Zoom meeting password. Second\, we use Chess.com with our Intermediate classes so please set up your free Chess.com account and then search for and join our Orlov Chess Academy club. DESCRIPTION:Our weekly Friday Night Quads Tournament will pair 4 students of similar chess skill together for 3 exciting and rated chess games! This NWSRS-rated event is a great way to practice skills and establish or maintain an official chess rating. \nLive game analysis is offered between rounds by a coach with years of tournament experience\, or when students finish all 3 of their games. \nFormat: Game/25 with 5-second delay\, 3 rounds\, NWSRS rated. \nWhere: Friday Night Quads are held in-person in our Redmond office. \nWe encourage you to register early. Accordingly\, the price goes up $3 on the Wednesday before the event. \n\n\n\n\nSchedule:\n\n\n\n\n\n6:20 PM\nWarm-up games\, early arrival is encouraged\n\n\n6:30 PM\nPlayers must be already on site or call ahead\, 425-345-9731\n\n\n→\nPairings are announced\, take your seat\n\n\n→\nRules review\, if any players are new to tournaments\n\n\n6:35 PM\nRound 1 Begins\n\n\n\nSubsequent rounds start when both players have finished previous games\n\n\n\nBetween rounds the players have an optional 5 minute break\n\n\n\nEvent ends when all games conclude
