DESCRIPTION:Grades: 1-5\nAfter-school instructional chess club at St. Benedict Catholic School.\nKnowledge of chess moves and rules is required.\nTo get started in chess\, the ChessKid videos here and here are very helpful! \nEach class will begin with a chess lesson\, with the instructor introducing a chess subject to the students. Subjects include opening strategy\, chess tactics\, checkmating patterns\, and more. After that\, chess puzzles will be offered\, and students will finish the class with playing time. They may play with their friends\, or the coach will assign games per skill level. \nWhen: 3:05 – 4:05 pm Thursdays\nRoom: TBD\nFall Series: 10 Classes!\nSept 12\, 19\, 26\nOct 3\, 10\, 17\, 31  (no class 10/24)\nNov 7\, 14\, 21 \nCost: $219 for 10 classes.
