Tuesday Booster Classes (Video Conference)

A weekly class on Tuesdays by IM Georgi Orlov.

Booster Classes are perfect for beginners that have played some chess, know the moves, have played a chess tournament, and could use some direction to become an Intermediate player.

Is this class for you? Click here for how to choose classes.

All of our classes and lessons moved to online video conferencing since March 17th.

Below is the meeting invitation for Tuesday’s remote chess lessons at 5:30 pm. To join the meeting, click on the link below following the “Join Zoom Meeting”. You can connect by laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Please use a webcam setup so I can see the students. You’ll probably want to arrive a few minutes early and test your microphone and camera.

Kindly remind students to hold questions and comments during my lesson until I open the floor for discussion. Allow one student to finish their thoughts before jumping in. This will reduce interruptions and maintain the integrity of the chess session.

It is good practice to mute your microphone until you talk to reduce background noise and re-mute when your conversation is finished. Think of it as a “push to talk” toggle.

We encourage all our students in the beginners/booster class to create ChessKid.com account.

On ChessKid.com, students can make their own personal “kid” accounts. Then search for club “Orlov Academy”. If you have trouble, contact the coach and he can invite you into the club. After you’re in the club, click here to open our club page: Orlov Academy on ChessKid.com.

After the lesson is over, kids can log in to ChessKid.com and play practice games against one another.

Thanks, Coach Orlov
