DESCRIPTION:Grades: 1 – 5\nWhen: 8:00 – 9:00 am Tuesdays\nWhere: Cafeteria\nKnowledge of chess moves and rules is required.\nTo get started in chess\, the ChessKid videos here(opens in new tab) and here(opens in new tab) are very helpful!\nStudents will be paired by age and ability as appropriate. \nEach class begins with a chess lesson\, with the instructor introducing a chess subject to the students. Subjects include opening strategy\, chess tactics\, checkmating patterns\, and more. After that\, chess puzzles will be offered\, and students will finish the class with playing time.
