This summer camp is held at Meridian School. Please read and follow school guidance at Meridian Summer Quest 2024 for their campus requirements and health directives.
Knowledge of chess moves and rules is required.
To get started in chess, the ChessKid videos here and here can be helpful!
Open to students in grades K-8, from Beginners to Advanced.
Each camp includes a tournament with chess clocks, recording and game review. Other chess activities include solving chess puzzles, opening moves and strategy lessons, endgame practice and review, chess videos, casual student games, blitz tournament, and of course the bughouse!
We also have occasional contests, like chess jeopardy (with teams and questions about various chess or near-chess subjects). Students are rewarded for hard work and effort in a camp.
All camps are attended or conducted by International Master Georgi Orlov, 1994 US Open Champion, USCF Rated 2540, with a 4-Year Chess Education degree from Moscow, Russia.
