Friday Beginner Classes in Redmond

A weekly class on Friday afternoons by Chess Expert Ryan Ackerman.

Students learn sportsmanship, how to play with a clock, record their games, basic strategies, solid opening plays, and much more! The class includes chess lesson time and student playing time (students play each other).

Beginners class is best for those with NWSRS ratings from 300 to 700 or unrated.

This is an ongoing class, so we recommend that students create a free ChessKid.com account to learn basic chess moves and piece names. It’s also a great way to practice between lessons!

Booster classes are ideal for NWSRS ratings 700 to 1100.
Intermediate classes are best for NWSRS ratings of 1100 and up.

In Person! This Friday class is held in person in our Redmond office at regular capacity.
