5-Day Summer Chess Camp
Week of July 20-24 in Redmond

Monday – Friday, July 20 – 24, 2026

8:45 am – 3:00 pm

Each chess camp features tournament games promptly analyzed by a chess master. Other activities include solving fun chess puzzles, learning cool openings, solving tricky tactics, mastering fundamental endgames, and playing casual games between students!

Groups formed by skill level. Tournament games, casual play, lessons, game reviews, chess movies, solitaire chess! Outside activity after lunch, until 12:30 pm.

All camps are attended or conducted by International Master Georgi Orlov, 1994 US Open Champion, USCF Rated 2540, with a 4-Year Chess Education degree. Also featuring NM Joshua Sinanan!

Open to all students in grades K-8, from Beginners to Advanced. We love beginners. However, knowing how the pieces move is required. ChessKid videos how to play chess and an introduction to chess are great!

Dates

Choose desired days, 2 or more days in any combination.
Register early, space is limited to 18 in Redmond and 24 at Green Lake.
Camp hours are 8:45 – 3:00 pm in both Seattle and Redmond.

Format for Redmond Camps

8:45 Arrival. Chess warmup and casual games between students
9:30 Morning lesson. Focus on tactics; openings; strategy and more.
Different theme or focus each week in a classroom format. Enroll in multiple weeks to broaden your skills. Chess puzzle solving where each student has a workbook.
10:15 Morning tournament games
11:45 Lunch. Pizza and other items available for purchase from PCC.
Pick-up time for AM campers, and drop-off time for PM campers.
Outside recess.
12:30 Chess lesson or games review
1:15 Afternoon chess activity; simuls and tournament games
2:15 Game reviews and coach analysis. Chess puzzles.
2:45-
3:00		 Pick-up time

After-camp care may be available, $18/hour, please book in advance.

Early bird 10% discount by registering by Monday June 1st, 2025.
Siblings discount 10% off.
Half-day, $55 each, minimum two half days.

We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Please register early.

Cancellation fee $35, please give us 72-hour notice before the first day the camp begins.
No refunds after camp starts, transfer to another camp may be possible.
