Mid-Winter Break Chess Camp, Green Lake

February 17 – 21, 2025, Monday – Friday

8:45 am – 3:00 pm

We teach openings, strategy, middle game and endgame lessons. The camp features tournament games immediately analyzed by a chess master. Students are arranged into groups by skill level.

Other activities include solving fun chess puzzles, learning cool openings, solving tricky tactics, mastering fundamental endgames, and playing casual games between students! We may separate into a second group with its own coach if the skill levels and ages require it and there are enough students.

All camps are attended or conducted by International Master Georgi Orlov, 1994 US Open Champion, USCF Rated 2540, with a 4-Year Chess Education degree. Also featuring NM Joshua Sinanan!

Open to all students in grades K-8, from Beginners to Advanced. We love beginners. However, knowing how the pieces move is required. ChessKid videos how to play chess and an introduction to chess are great!

Signups are open for Thursday 2/20 and Friday 2/21.
The last two days offer lots of fun with lots to learn.

This camp has two to five full days, or two to five half days.
Half days are 8:45-11:45, or noon to 3:00 pm.
After-camp care may be available with advance notice, $18/hour.

Our Mid-Winter Break chess camps are held in both Redmond and Green Lake. Please sign up for the specific weeks and locations you will attend.

This chess camp is a five-day series, Monday – Friday.
Choose one to five full days in any combination for these camps.

Format

Arrival and check-in begin at 8:45 AM.
Lessons starting at 9:15 AM.
Different theme or focus each day in a classroom format.
Scheduled breaks.
Lunch 11:15 am to 11:45 AM.
Recess outside, 11:45 am-12:30 PM.
Pick-up at 3:00 PM.

Morning half-day is 8:45 – 11:45.
Afternoon half-day is 12:00 – 3:00.

We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Please register early.
Cancellation fee $35, please give us 72-hour notice before the first day the camp begins.
No refunds after camp starts, transfer to another camp may be possible.
Early bird 10% discount for registering before Friday February 7th.
Additional 10% discount for siblings.
You may add days after camp start at $90/day or $50 half-day.
