New Year’s Week, Redmond

December 30, 31, January 2, 3, 2024

Monday-Tuesday, Thursday-Friday – no camp on New Year’s Day

8:45 am – 3:00 pm

We teach openings, strategy, middle game and endgame lessons. The camp features tournament games immediately analyzed by a chess master. Students are arranged into groups by skill level.

Other activities include solving fun chess puzzles, learning cool openings, solving tricky tactics, mastering fundamental endgames, and playing casual games between students! We may separate into a second group with its own coach if the skill levels and ages require it and there are enough students.

All camps are attended or conducted by International Master Georgi Orlov, 1994 US Open Champion, USCF Rated 2540, with a 4-Year Chess Education degree. Also featuring NM Joshua Sinanan!

Early bird discount 5% if you register by Monday December 23rd, 2024.

Open to all students in grades K-8, from Beginners to Advanced. We love beginners. However, knowing how the pieces move is required. ChessKid videos how to play chess and an introduction to chess are great!

Dates: Flexible!

Choose two to four full days, or two to four half days for this camp.

Our holiday camps are held in both Redmond and Green Lake, and span the weeks before and after Christmas. Please sign up for the specific weeks and locations you will attend.

Format

Arrival and check-in begin at 8:45 AM.
Lessons starting at 9:15 AM.
Different theme or focus each day in a classroom format.
Scheduled breaks.
Lunch 11:15 am to 11:45 AM.
Recess outside, 11:45 am-12:30 PM.
Pick-up at 3:00 PM.

Morning half-day is 8:45 – 12:00.
Afternoon half-day is 12:00 – 3:00.
